of 2/24/2021 SICLC Delegates Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 6:04 PM by President Jason Redrup.
The pledge of allegiance was conducted, and the President’s Message was read.

A motion was made to
accept the minutes from the January 2021 meeting, the motion passed.

and the benefits with it.

A Group Breakout was held;
each group was told to come up with the name of a famous labor leader.
Officer Reports:
WSLC President Report:
President Larry Brown gave a report on several bills in Olympia that were important to workers: i.e., Unemployment issues, and establishing guidelines for workers in case of a pandemic. He added that he was on the phone that day with President Trumpka, and that Trumpka was emphasizing the importance of passing the PRO Act.
Secretary-Treasurer Report:
Secretary-Treasurer Kelley reported that in December we raised a total of $2459.00 for the food bank and that Teamsters 38 was the top contributor. He also asked the delegates to share any services that are union so that we could add them to our website. He also reported on the upcoming Education Committee.
New Business
Early Endorsements:
Nate Nehring, Snohomish County Council: A recommendation from the executive board was presented to the body to endorse. The recommendation comes with a motion and second. Motion Passed.
Jennifer Gregersen, Mayor of Mukilteo: A recommendation from the executive board was presented to the body to endorse. The recommendation comes with a motion and second. Motion Passed.
David Simpson, Port
Commissioner: A recommendation from the
executive board was presented to the body to endorse. The recommendation comes
with a motion and second. Motion Passed.
Reports of Unions:
David Simpson, SPEEA 2001: Thanked the Delegates for the early endorsement.
Doug Scott, LIUNA 292: Reminded newly elected trustees to get with Charlotte to schedule going over the financial books.
Adrian Noel, UFCW 21: Reported on the contract negotiations with Whidbey Health and their struggles with financial transparency. He added there are car signs available, some for Whidbey Heath and also for Providence in Everett as they are having problems with them too in negotiations. Adrian introduced a guest, Laura
