Minutes
of 9/25/19 SICLC Delegates Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM by President Jason Redrup.
The pledge of allegiance was conducted, and the president’s message was read.
The Minutes from the August Meeting were approved.

Guests:
Courtney Ramirez, UFCW Local 21; Gave an update on their current struggles with Providence Hospital. She stated that they will be conducting a strike vote soon and encouraged the delegates to contact the CEO and ask to give his employees a fair contract.
Secretary Treasurers Report:
· Leonard gave an update on the Labor Day event and thanked all the volunteers.
· He reminded the delegates of the upcoming class with Mark McDermott.
· Leonard announced the we will be having a Labor Neighbor event on October 19th in Everett and in Stanwood and there is a need for volunteers
· Also shared that there will be a rally on December 7th in Seattle commemorating the 20-year anniversary of the WTO rally.
· Leonard added that we are looking for someone to fill the position on the Everett Housing Authority Board and we need volunteers that live in their jurisdiction.
New Business
Aunja Staymates, United Way Labor Liaison; Reported on the last United Way Labor Advisory Committee Meeting, stating only one person showed up. A discussion was had to try and determine when the best time to have the meeting was. The delegates decided to hold it right after our monthly delegates meeting. First Meeting will be, October 23rd, right after the Delegate Meeting.
Old Business
Motions that were made from the floor at the previous delegates meeting were brought back to the delegates for a vote.
April Berg, Candidate for Everett School Board: Motion Passed.
Joseph Busig, Candidate for Oak Harbor City Council: A motion was made and seconded to table this motion until further research of this race was complete. Motion to table passed.
Liz Vogeli, Candidate for Everett City Council: Motion Passed.
Reports of Unions:
Cynthia Robson, SEIU 1199NW: Reported that in September they started on their 4th year of negotiations with Providence and that it has been frustrating.
Tom McConnell, IATSE 15: Reported that they had secure the Who concert on October 16th
Gary Kanter, AFM 76-493: Reported on his radio show “We Do the Work,” adding he would like to do a follow up on the issues with Providence Hospital.
