Minutes of the Meeting of November 17, 2010

 

  The meeting was called to order by President pro tem, Jason Redrup. Janine Dibble, IBT 38 was appointed to fill the Vice President’s Chair. The Flag salute and the reading of the meeting purpose followed. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as posted on line.

 

CREDENTIALS

 

 

   It was M/S/C to seat the new delegate present. Tom McConnell, IATSE 15 was sworn in.

 

EXECUTIVE BOARD REPORT

 

  Sec. Treas. Sells gave an update on the election results for endorsed candidates and issues focusing on results in Snohomish County.

 

REPORTS OF UNIONS

 

Organizing Reports-No new reports

 

Contract Negotiations—Geoff Crofoot, IFPTE 17 reported on his local’s concern for negotiations with the County Public Health District. Members are facing large health care costs without any raises to help cover it.

Janine Dibble, IBT 38—reported that the local had received a 90% strike authorization vote against area grocers. Negotiations are continuing on Thursday and Friday.

NEW BUSINESS

 

  Nominations for the following Executive Board positions for 2011-12 were opened and made. Nominations will continue to be open at the next meeting.

 

 

GOOD OF THE ORDER

  Rep. Mike Sells, 38th District thanked the Council for its support in the recent election, and noted the upcoming budget difficulties at the state level.

 

  Suzanne Moreau, PSLA Director for Snohomish County reported on poinsettia sales to help Puget Sound Labor Agency funding, the upcoming holiday raffle and the First Amendment Scholarship event being planning

 

  The meeting adjourned at 6:34 PM
